The following is a reproduction of a letter from Ken Kowalski, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Barrhead-Morinville-Westlock, in response to our recommendation that the Sion property become the home base for a Sion Farmers' Market.  Following that letter is some background information with respect to this recommendation.
Contrary to our recommendations, the property was auctioned off on Sunday, April 23.  It was bought by Don and Jennifer Scott for just over $34,000, and the Scotts are now in the process of renovating it as a residential property.
The Scotts  are from the Atmore area between Lac La Biche and Athabasca on Highway 55, near the junction with the Fort McMurray Highway (63).
The two pages which follow Ken Kowalski's letter provide some further background information on our earlier Sion Farmers' Market proposal.
Don and Jennifer Scott are a charming couple, the elderly parents of six children.  They are progressing well with the task of transforming the Sion property into an attractive residential and recreational development.
